Services for Students with Disabilities
Interpreters
COCC is committed to providing access to individuals needing sign language interpreting services even though there has historically been a shortage of qualified interpreters in our area. When students requiring interpreter services give advance notice of their intention to enroll full time in an upcoming term, the College will conduct a search to hire a qualified, full-time interpreter. When the intent is to attend part time, the College will attempt to hire a qualified, part-time interpreter. We will obviously be more successful, particularly in hiring a full-time person, when we have advance notice of two months or more, though we will make every reasonable effort no matter what the notice.
